The Garden at Federal Twist will be open as part of the Garden Conservancy Open Days program for a second time this year–on Saturday, October 19, from 10 am to 4 pm. Please come if you can. This garden is all about seasonal change; cool nights and recent rains  have moved the garden well along the way to  reds, oranges, and multihued browns of autumnal dissolution and decay. Click on the photo below to see a selection of photos over the past year.

I’m sure I’ll enjoy moments, and after it’s over, the broad experience, but having 200+ people coming through your house can make for a very busy day.

The best time. It would be a treat to spend an Autumn afternoon at your place. Hope the weather plays ball.

Rob, I think you’d enjoy sitting out on the terrace having a glass of wine as twilight falls.

Glad you’re coming. Looks to be a sunny day, at least in part.

James
Saturday my husband Bob and I will be married for 50 years. To celebrate we have decided to visit your garden and have dinner in your area. We look forward to seeing your beautiful garden. If it is half as nice as the photos we have seen we will be very happy. It is true it will be a busy day for you but we have been to many, many open days and we have always met wonderful kind people so don’t be nervous and enjoy the experience and thanks for sharing your garden.

Elayne, I’m honored. I do hope you have a good day and choose a good restaurant. I’d make recommendations, but had better not on this public forum. Phil and I celebrate our 40th in February.

James, what a gorgeous garden – i’m so happy i had a chance to visit – thank you so much for sharing. I made more than 200 pictures, probably half of them of Inula Rasemosa – i’m totally smitten by this plant – those giant shell like dying leaves!
